Has anyone seen this?

Post by Gord_the_Rogue »

I don't think this is spoilerish, but you never know... be warned.

I just started a new game and for some reason was checking out the hint message between area loads (I usually pay them no attention because I swear I have seen them all). To my surprise, there is a new one! I am sure that it comes from one of the mods that I installed, but thought it would be interesting to bring up.
It says "Lost an animal companion, or just sick of your familiar? Come to Smethy's Prestige Pets! (Advertisement authorized by Aljaf the Originally Insane)"

Anyone else ever see this? More importantly, does it mean anything?
While on the subject of noticing things never noticed before, I noticed for the first time today that Elence Fielding, one of the merchants in Imnsevale, has a change in wardrobe. When she is outside, her robes are mostly green with orange or yellow fringe. When she goes into the inn at night, her robe colors change to mostly orange or yellow with green fringe.

Man, I really need to stop playing this game so much.

The advert that pops up on the loading screen is to do with the Minsc related quest from Unfinished Business Highlight to read.

You probably got Unfinished Business installed ;)

Ohh, and the difference in clothing from a random peasant/seller, is caused by either beginning a new game or uninstalling and installing the game again. I've experienced the same thing often enough. :D

Ahhhh.... that explains it, and why I didn't know what it meant (I never take that character in my party). Thanks for the info.

As for the clothing change, it doesn't just happen with beginning a new game or install, but it happens right during the game. For example, I went to the merchant (Elence Feilding), and identified some items (it was daytime) and her clothes were color A. Then I went into the inn and rested, and when I looked, the merchants clothing colors changed, she now being inside the inn, becoming color B. (On a sidenote, it looks as if the "major/minor" colors switched). When daytime comes, and she goes outside, the colors again switch. I tried this again without resting, i.e. just waiting for dark to come, and the same thing happened.

Of course, it was late at night, and I might just be off my rocker, been known to happen on occassion.
