High level abilities in SOA?

My characters are still in SOA but are already pretty high-level. My highest is Haer 'dalis who is 18th. I have TOB installed and for some reason I thought that you would get the high-level abilities in SOA with TOB installed. So far none of my characters have gotten any so the question is will I only get these in the TOB game?

No, you can get them in SoA, but your characters must have a level beyond 2.950.000 experience (i.e. level 23 for Haer'Dhalis)

Ahhh. No wonder. I guess I jumped the gun. That's a relief, I thought I was wasting all those hard won levels without special abilities.

A minor note:

You will gain HLAs at the first level-up above 2.95 million EXP for all single and multiclass characters, BUT dual-class characters willrequire 2.95 million in their active class before obtaining any HLAs.

and you will ONLY get high level abilities in your second class if you dual class..multi class gets from both pools, but no kits allowed...

Now, if you power-play and like naughty cheesiness, you get HLAs around Spellhold/Underdark, even with a large party XP cap is nerfed of course, most quests are done before you go save Imoen (some Watchers Keep levels as well for items/XP).

It's unbalancing, but it's cool facing Bodhi in Ch.6 (improved or not) with a demi-god Fighter-Mage with time-stops, chain contingencies, black blade of disaster and planetars by your side
