Coolest NPC?

Post by Dark Master »

I'm very bored right now, so I thought I'd post this, feel free to ignore it or dismiss it as crap, but I thought that as there are a few NPC's out there who we all know, it might be an idea to explore who everyone likes the most.

If this proves to be a sucess, I'll get the top three names and stick them in a poll.

You may not nominate Vivec, Almalexia, Dagoth Ur, Azura or Ordinators/Guards.

I'm trying to decide between Aryon, Divith Fyr, Umbra, or the last living dwarf.

Anyway. Just thought I'd try it.

quite the good idea friend.

i pick gentleman Jim Stacey.i dont know maybe its because i preformed his tasks everytime i played, but the looks, the voice, the script of the kind, robin hood like thief with enough interest in justice as well as in profit, the retirement reasons that air with an expirienced man - all that stole my heart (as much as any imaginitive person can steal)

p.s. oh ok, he is a THIEF - damn, the man steals for a living....luckily, he never showed his police record.... :D

I actually agree with Gentleman Jim. Hadn't thought of him. He's a socialist, just as Robin Hood is. But my vote is going to Divith Fyr, he has an awesome collection of weapons (well Scourge and the ability to get the Deadric Crecent), as well as being an all round nice guy. He's so laid back as well...

"[The potion will] Probably kill you too. Ah well."
"I have a lot of visitors, I don't really keep track, you're welcome to look."
"Oh do you want it? You can have it."

I also really admire the way he has set up the Corpusarium. I think he's a real unsung hero, as his wife says, probably the kindest wizard on Vvardenfel and the most powerful after Vivec.

DM

PS - Anyone nominating Fargoth will be considered a lunatic.

Drarayne Thelas of Balmora. She's a pillow fanatic.

What's ironic is that if you go up to Sheogorad, near Big Head's house on some desolate island, you'll find a shipwreck with nothing but pillows littering the place. Going into the Captain's chambers you'll find an invoice calling for an order from Thelas for the forty pillows you just discovered. :D

Unfortunately, when I tried to bring her the invoice and all the pillows, it turned out that there was no extended quest in the first place. :(

Were you higher than his level, or did you check out online strategies for killing him, first? If you got him at a low level without any help, good on you. :) Otherwise...

What's a low level for killing Umbra? I just shafted him by using my Wizards staff and keping out of his range. Then I shot him with arrows and any enchanted items I had.

If Aryon is that Telvanni guy whos open to new ideas and tells you to kill the Archmage, then I nvote for him. He's cool.

"Kill him. That's the way we do things in House Telvanni." Or something like that. :)

I like Ajira, the journeyman alchemist in Balmora's Mage Guild. She gives you quests whose goal (for you) is promotion, but she sweetens each deal with some extra potions she's made. She's friendly, personable, and not above screwing the competition who's trying to get ahead in the guild, as well (witness her use of you to hobble an opponent's efforts). Nice change of pace from the usual inhabitant, who sneers at you as an "outlander," and would just as soon deal with a Bhaalspawn. ;)

Sorry Dm, I know I said Mistress that hates men but I met my new FAVOURITE character...

Dhaunayne Aundae

High Elf Vampire Queen of the magical Vampire clan Aundae. She looks cool, and her attitude is even MORE "Don't give me s***" that that Telvanni Misstress. I can't get over it, she is SO cool (the vampire Queen that is). Even her name is really cool :D :D :D

By the way, can we please keep the Vampire and High Elf insults away, please? ;)

The thieves-guild Khajit lady in the Pelagiad inn. Forgot her name though.

I love that one Cat-Thing shipmaster at Khuul, the one that takes you to Solstheim

"hurry! hurry! Last boat to Solstheim. Until the next one. Muahahahahahahaha"

Gotta love it, Ill find out his name and post it here as soon as Im not a wolfie..
What a wonderous love it is
To bind two souls in faith,
Chained completely together
With never a false word,
Weal and woe, wish and real,
Woven each together
From first kiss to last breath
First and last whispered in love

Now, who's that Khajiit in the Sheogorad region who has mostly just ramblings and insane things to talk about? I liked him. :D

"Talking mudcrabs everywhere. They already own Balmora." or something along those lines, just to quote. :)

Noooo, come on, you all have to admit the coolest is the drunk, talking mudcrab merchant on the little island east of Vivec. Between him and the afore-mentioned khajiit who talks in riddles way up in Sheogorad, the game is truly enriched. :p

Ha, I just ran into that guy 5 minutes ago while I was searching for that island with the Deadra taht I ned to clear out for Azura's quest. He is pretty damn weird.

PC: Wereshark?
Him: I only ever met one, and he was afraid of the water.

There are just too many different 'cool NPCs for any of them to ever get enough nominations, maybe one day I'll make a poll of my favourites, but I think I'm going to abandon the idea for now.
