Locked objects

Post by shadowriath »

I found none side from maybe 3 chests total that needed a knock. All others just took some sitting and retrying the picking skill...no option for take 20 like other RPGs.

The 3 chests: These would not crack after 10 minutes with a 15-20 pick skill.

Jaroo's chest in Hommlet
Jeweler's chest in Hommlet
Fire temples chest on floor two

.

with the best possible DEX modifier (DEX 26 = +8) and the master thieves tools (+2 - you can buy them in nulb) you only need 5 lock-pick points points for the highest DC chest (DC 35) - if you are willing to wait for rolling a 20 !

(same for disable device)

I dunno if you killed Jaroo yet but he is worth it.

He has the following on him

Cobra Staff

Scimitar +1

Money

Jewles

Gems

Key to his chest

The Only thing in his chest is a single black peral.

Also with Jaroo if you try to pick the lock on his chest it will instantly start a battle.

Jarro isnt the problem it's the two black bears he summons.

The people who ARE worth killing are those in the trading post....they have ALOT of Magical items on them, including the dust of disapearance.

Well I went back in and tried to kill the Jewler, we won of course. There was a good and a bad thing that came out of it. For starters the Jewler does have some nice items in his chest. The bad thing is EVERYONE in Omlet will attack you from the Black Smith to the people in the "Welcome Wench Inn." So I thought that killing the Jewler wasnt worth it and reloaded my game to before killing the Jewler.

Why not try and pick his pockets for the key?
