Gedna Relvel's Tomb

Post by beornica »

Can anybody tell me how they managed to kill Gedna Relvel, the corpse who is spreading the crimson plague in Tribunal? I'm level 55, and I'm wearing the Savior's Hide (resist magicka 60%), and yet all he has to do is cast one spell at me and I'm down in a second! What's the trick?

If you are a member of Telvanni, and you do not have a patron called Fast Eddie, get a patron called Fast Eddie. He can fetch you the Ring of Equity which has got Spell Absorption 100 pts for 30 secs and Reflect 70% for 30 secs. No spells can hit you then. ;)
I used it to beat Archmagister Gothren without even getting a scratch. Quite useful.

I am a Telvanni, actually... and yet, I am in Fast Eddie's house, and he won't even talk to me about the Telvanni, nevermind be my patron. I tried killing him - this mythical, magical "Ring of Equity" is nowhere to be found. Sucks, too, since I've been looking high and low for really good reflect for a while, anyway. I can't even find any spellmakers who have it as an option. And I can't cheat with a mod, either - I'm an xbox gal. Bummer, man. There's gotta be a way! Anyone have any other suggestions?

You have to be a Wizard in Telvanni, then ask Master Aryon about duties and do them until he mentions that you need a patron, he says you can find him in Balmora. Before you go to Balmora, go to the Telvanni council in Sadrith Mora, and ask around about that patron, and you'll get to know that his name is Fast Eddie and he lives in Balmora. Then go talk to him, and he will be your patron, if you give him a Silver Staff of Peace. When he's your patron, just ask him for duties, and he'll tell you how he will fetch the Ring of Equity for you. Here's a walkthrough.

Edit: By the way, you can find Reflect spells many places, just check the list at Spell Search.

thank you thank you. You've been extremely helpful. Guess I just got tired of the Telvanni missions once I hit Spellwright... but now that I know there are actually good things to come...
Thank you very muchly! And your spell list link, too... I really ought to start cheating a bit more... ;)

I always creep up to the enemy and paralize him/her...if it's a magican. I hate those magicans....

Worth a shot. I'm gonna try and get some sweet reflect first, though. I could try to paralyze him, you see, but I hear he's got crazy resist on him. Not that I would know. I never even got to hit him once.

You could summon some ( weak) creatures and take an invisibility potion. Then watch the show. His magica can't last forever....

no problem

I've never played a magican, but I like these "Summon ( insert creature you want)"-Scrolls.

"His magic can't last forever?"

Well, firstly, I think it's a woman, but anyway. It has a "Lich's Robe" Which drains health by 300 but boosts Magic by 600, or maybe vice versa, either way, there's a lotta mana there.

I actually just fought her. I have high marksman skills, so I just shot at her and hid behind the pillars in the room. Her shots detonated on them and didn't have the range to hurt me.

Don't know what you say if you don't have marksman skills, though.

OK, it may take many summoned creatures but *her* magaca won't last forever, just like I said....ahh, whatever :p . Another tactic may be better...I've never fought her so I didn't know about the lich's robe...

What about many invisibility potions and many "Absorb Intelligence"-Spells?

I haven't heard anything at all about her... Who is she? how can I confront her?

What about making an amulet with a really really high Damage Intelligence spell on it? Or do you need Damage Magicka (if that even exist, I don't know)? Or you can use a Sound spell with high magnitude and duration, which makes her fail more often with spells.

If you carry Throwing Stars or knives of darts you can intercept hr spells with them.

If you kill the Black Dart Gang you can get a few darts with 50-100 damage, that's pretty much a one-hit kill on most enemies.

thank you so much - you guys rock! I'll see what I can do about damaging intelligence. Also, the "dart or throwing star" reply made me remember some excellent darts I picked up in Solstheim. Watch out, anybody who wants to do everything the hard way, this may be considered a *spoiler*

In a tree trunk just behind Thirsk (I'm pretty sure) there are a handful of darts that do 5,000 damage to health per hit. Pretty nifty, huh? I thought so at the time. ;) Thanks for all the suggestions!

Yeah, just don't accidentally use them up. Especially not on rickling raiders, what with their reflections. God I hate not remembering that. I use a paralyze sword on them and end up killing myself.

If I took a crazy amount of fortify willpower potions, would it make me completely resistant to this spell, do ya think?
