I had a strength of 121 (carry 600+ lbs) a few days ago, but now it's down to 118. I was cured of corprus and all that, plus I have that glove that adds 20 strength. It hasn't shown that I'm infected with anything, and I can't be anyway because of the corprus. A restore strength spell did nothing.
Why am I losing strength?

One of the side affects of corprus is that it add points to your strength stats. These points will keep on increasing until you are cured. Once you are cured any strength points you earned from having it will stay until they are reduced by a damage/drain strength spell. Once that happens they are lost for good. Of course you can boost your stength with enchanted items and potions but your base strength will get reset to a max of 100 points as the bonus points are lost. If you delay in getting your corprus healed for a very long time you can amass quite a few bonus strength, and I think, endurance points. Of course any stats hurt by the corprus can be easily restored with a restoration spells/potions/imperial cult altars. Anyway, that's my guess as to what you are currently experiencing.

I'm not 100% about this, but i think i'm on the right track...
When I got corprus, i chose not to heal myself right away so i could truly benefit from the side effects (increased strength, endurance)... But that means you have a higher strength than you're supposed to (the stat is highlighted in white). Thus, when certain creatures attack you with strength-sapping attacks (i don't know exactly who does that), there is no way to restore the stat because you still have more than you actually should have.
Makes sense?
Example, i had a strength of around 138 when i was totally unequipped. After playing for a while that was down to 131, and it's still dwindling. I think it's because of certain creatures' strength-damaging attacks. I guess in the long run that means the stat-gain from corprus can be merely temporary...

Well anyways, since you cured yourself of corpus and you still lost STR, it's because the +20 STR and how ever much you lost cancel out. Even though you had 121 and it says 118, the way Morrowind was made it thinks that they cancel out. I think it's just a hole in the game. See I have lots of Fortifying STR items I made that raise my STR to 180, so when I lost STR it's colored in yellow instead of white and red, and restore STR potions and spells do nothing. But after I take off all my items that raise STR it says my remaining STR is in red text, instead of still in yellow now. Then my restore STR spells work to raise my STR back to it's base without items 120 (I'm a vampire and get a 20 point raise.) I put my items back on and all of a sudden I have 180 STR in the game. I don't know, I think it's a glitch in the game that doesn’t allow you to restore an attribute while wearing items that affect that attribute. You just have to unequip them and then you can restore it.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.
