I've read various posts and some say it does and some say its a bug that should be fixed, but my paladin's detect evil simply does not work(no sparkles on anyone). Does anyone know if it will be fixed? I installed patch 1 but it did not work. I killed the two merchants in homlet germag and ramos and the log says their chaotic evil but detect showed nothing.
On another note, it took me a while to get smite evil to work... it does not work like the monks stunning fist. You must highlight the paladin then drag the mouse over the intended target, then right click to open the radial menu and select smite. With the monk you just open the radial menu, select stun (this gives you a blue circle with a pointer around the monk) and then click the intended target. Is this not a bug as well?
Just wondering if I'm missing something...

Most of those spells you speak of are bugged. along with the detect magic spell. Unless something strikes Atari in the arse with a lighting bolt then those bugs won't be fixed.
Sorry to send bad news yer way.
Sides make sure you have the CO8 patch installed, it wont fix those bugs but other minor problems.
Take Care.

Yes as far as I know the detect spells never worked (are bugged) but I did notice as with the Clerical "Find Trap" spell that If I cast it and then do a search then it will find the trap. I've not tried a search with combination of the the other detect spells but it may be worth a try.Originally posted by Lime_Jello24

Thanks for the info. Ya know, it really ticks me off that game companies keep releasing products they know are bugged, then get the people that buy them to do their testing for them. That is bad enough, but to leave bugs unfixed and do nothing... that's really lame.
Atari could learn a lesson from the likes of Blizzard or ID. Hell even Bethesda that has released some REALLY buggy products at least TRIES to correct them. How long has temple been out now? I remember the days before the internet... you know, when game companies HAD to release a bug free product, or word would get around and it simply would not sell.... It's far too easy now for companies to release software, take our money and say "Hey, we'll just release a patch later...maybe...."
Thanks to all for the replies anyway...
