You know what pisses me off

In games like KOTOR and in movies and tv series like SW and SG etc, when the people go to planet, a HUGE planet, like that huge city planet in KOTOR, they spend their time at one small place. It makes me feel the planet is just small planet size of couple of rooms lol ...
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

True, but i think this is done so that you get more variation.
The game is a certain size, with a certain amount of gameplay. If you could visit entire taris, you would never get off it.
But you have a good point there.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I can only agree.

But as Stilgar says, much of it has to do with size, scope and development.
It takes more ressources (manpower, money, time etc) to develop larger areas, more dynamic areas and all that, and it demands more ressources (RAM, CPU, Harddisk space etc.) from the gamer to run the game.

But nevertheless I do feel, in SW:KotOR, that it makes the game feel claustrophobic when the areas are so small and limited, and futhermore it only adds to the feeling of the game being to short.
I would have liked this game a whole lot more, if it were larger/longer and had more exploration in it. But then again - that would proberly scare off many of the action-lovers that want the fast paced action.

If you want an rpg that feels extremely massive and expansive I would recommend The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind for X-Box or PC. The game is absolutely enormous. Too bad it's not in the Star Wars universe.

Agreed. Morrowind takes actual years in order to complete everything, but it is much less like an RPG than mos other RPGs.

I love how they pass off the Eastern Dune Sea in Tatooine as being "far away from the sand people enclave" and "uncharted and unexplored" when it is just a couple hundred yards from anchorhead.
