Toolset question

I have just begun work with the toolset. I visited Neverwinter vault(IGN), and nwn.bioware.com. I am still at a loss as to what I need to do. I am attempting the creation of a module for the first time.

I created a crypt room. I have been trying to create a door out and can't find any place to put the door that works. There is no obviously created gap in the walls for a door. I can send the module if needed, I'd just like to learn what was done to solve the issue in said case. I won't be able to do a thing, really, that is worthwhile, if I am unable to link areas or create doors within them (like between rooms).
