Multi/Spell memorise problem

I have created a necromancer in a multiplayer game with a friend. The problem is when I goto my mage spell book and click on the spells to memorize(options on the right) and the spell I clicked on goes to a left empty box. The thing is the spell I picked is blurred out on the left side. Kind of like it won't let me use it. This happens with ALL the spells including all the different level spells.

We had even took a mage we had gotten from playing and opened the mage book. We looked at the memorized spells, which were all clear not blurred out like my did. We took one of the spells off the memorize area, then reput it back on from clicking on it from the right. And when it put the spell back to the memorize area, it was blurred out even for this NPC!!

So...is there a buttom I have to hit for the character to remember these spells once I pick the ones I want to be memorized? I need help!

you have to rest before you can use newly memorized spells.
