I am pretty sure it is just a freaky glitch...First I attacked Prince Thrommel or whatever his name is. Then I went to loot him. During the looting(the looting screen was still up) I transfered the sword he has over to my sorceror to identify. Next I went to my sorceror's screen and dragged a wand of identify over to the "use item" button. Next thing I know, the looting screen turns into a merchants screen that'll let me identify my stuff for 100 GP. Pretty cool I would think...until I started moving my characters and the stupid Thrommel thing went with me!!!So I left [Exit] and it was still there on the left side of my screen! even though I was at the starting menu (the one with new, load, etc. as options). I dunno if it is still there, but I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else.
So I offer you respect, and it will take much for you to lose it. But if you do, if you choose to see it as weakness and seize upon your perceived advantage, well...perhaps I'll then let you talk with Guenhwyvar. -Drizzt Do'Urden
Same thing has happened to me. If you have a scroll or wand of identify and use it while in the looting screen, you can identify and unlimited number of times for 100gp each.
Oh yeah, to make the screen go away, all you have to do is click on the body or chest to loot it again, then exit the screen as normal.
