Questions abt kensai mage and kensai theif

Why is it that the kensai mage cannot wear braces?
I thought mages ARE able to wear braces.

Secondly, why is it that the kensai thief cannot wear any armour?

Lastly, which is better, a fighter thief or a swashbuckler fighter?

you keep the disadvantages of the kensai when you gain back your kensai abilities.

i think the fighter thief is better beause as a swashbuckler u can't use backstab and i think that is a great loss compared with the thief.
