dual wield - doesn work?!!?

Post by hackum »

It is VERY weird.

I am playing a fighter dualed to mage. Now I am 12/16, but it seems my character cannot dual wield.

I have *** in two weapon style and ***** in long swords. Anyway I can eqiup her with 2 swords, but it seems she deals damage only with one of them.

I did some tests:

main hand: Adjatha the drinker
off hand:some other sword

when she hits there is only one message like:
Arwen did 25 damage to Gnoll, and of course sge gets healed 1 point, because of Adjatha sword ability.

I exchanhe the swords:
Main hand: some sword
off hand: adjatha

Now she hits only with the main weapon and never gets healed.

However she gets the bonuses of both swords - immunity to charm (with Adjatha) in either hand..

So wierd, any knows what is happening?

Well, the off hand *does* damage, though, it seems, only once per round if you hit. At least having the Fail of Ages in one hand and the Cel.Fury against some golem (might be hit only by blunt, do not remeber exactly which kind) i was getting messages about hits with the fail (with 3 warnings about imunity against additional damage of the heads) and once in a round (THAC0 of kensai, -2/0 w/o spells) the single message about immunity - Cel.Fury, i guess. In other case Cel.Fury *did* damage, too - it was recognizable by sword's side effects.

Well, I just tried wielding the FOA with the off-hand and it does not do any damage. When the troll is down it keeps saying - immune to my damage.

however on the character screen it says
main hand thaco 0
off hand thaco -2

dunno what is hapenning...
