Why dualwield Crom Faer?

Post by Stilgar »

Exept for the 25strenght it's not realy a very good weapon, and you could get 24 strenght by using a girdle and taking the evil path on serevok. The are weapons with much better abbilities then CF, why not use them!

I seldom use it myself but still consider it an extremely good weapon (especially in SoA). 25 in Str, + 5 to THAC0 and Damage - how could it ever be "not really a very good weapon"?

Did you realize that the crom faeyr (sp) adds 5 electrical damage to every hit also. The discription doesnt say so but it does, makeing it a very effective weapon against stoneskined opponents. Also if you use it , you can wear the belt of inertial barrier instead of a giant str girdle.

It also hits all those "immune to +3 or lower" nasties.

I took a fighter several times into ultimate level, and found hey, you can have all dual single two hand slots filled with grand mastery in 2 weps. so you take warrior into highest rank, 40, you got grand mastery in two weps, so to maximize I like one two handed and one one handed. so I like two handed sword and bast sword, and plan on foe bane. you put crom into off hand so when you decide to go dual, for a fight, you hit really hard and it stings, too.

hmm, wonder if crom or enough potions of intel will open doors in flayer lair...

Well, it is true its not the best weapon for your main character, but an NPC rules with it, Korgan dualwielding that and the best axe, he is unstoppable..

I got a natural 24 in strength plus 1 for the symbol of talos, so i dont use it, but before hell it is great

I've heard that Crom Fayer dual wielded with Belm gives the most damage per round of any melee combination, all other things being equal.

25 str gives a big boost at "to hit" as well as damage. I have this at off hand and use Celestial Fury on hand for that extra bite. Either that or the Equaliser as most opponents are evil.

Two handed swords aren't that good unless it is wield by a paladin. Sarevok and Foebane comes in TOB so it is out of this forum's discussion...
