Where do I find the Gold and Silver "Pantaloons"?

The gold you find in bg1 and the silver you receive as a ransom. IIRC you have to find the guy that wears all red in the bridge district and confront him about the guy he had put in the graveyard alive. Then go into his house and talk to the lady upstairs. Hope that helps.

Yep, Armadin. I saw that too at the Black Isle board. Pretty darn cool huh? :) For those of you who don't want to be spoiled, let me just say KEEP THE PANTALOONS! :D
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

I don't believe that for a second. There's no way the developers would put something that powerful in, even as a joke.

I ain't bein' too sure o' it either, but yer comment doesn't really make sense. They put in stuff like Celestial Fury, now that be powerful! Do remember that ye have to go through a lot o' trouble to get this thing, an' see it as a reward fer all loyal BG players. An' nay, I'll ne'er be usin' it, though I must admit it be cool fer the endin' o' the pantaloons mystery.

Well, it isn't really funny either, is it? If it IS true, I'll be rather disappointed.

Seeing as it would reward the cheaters (it's impossible to have the pantaloon without cheating) i think it's highly unlikely that the developers would make such an item.

And it's crap too, an armor that shoots fireballs ?
however it would silence that eternal 'who's the best tank ?'-crap.

Fer yer information, the Golden Pantaloons be the only BG1 item that actually carries over to BG2. If ye had it in the inventory of yer BG1-exported character, ye'll found the Pantaloons in Irenicus' Dungeon.

This stinks! It's no way near funny OR heroic.

*I* will be replaying BG1 before I get to ToB anyway, but...

Were people supposed to have their BG1 character actually lug those pantaloons around until the end of the game?

Looks like it!

Pantaloons the great enigma of Faerun!

Well to be honest I do not remember crossing the first pair in BGI and was not evil enough to obtain the second pair in BGII. So it does stink that only "evil" chars will get access to such .... (avoiding spoiling)

Believe it. That's just a page from the strategy guide. Plenty of other spoilers have been revealed on the Black Isle boards (not always in the spoiler section).

I think it's a pretty funny easter egg. You CAN'T get the pantaloons without cheating or playing all the way from BG1. It's something to amuse longtime fans who have been wondering about the pantaloons, not a nefarious encouragement of munchkinism (that would be the other new items).
