How to kill the adventurers in CH1??
The adventurers in the Den of Seven Vales in Waukeen's Promenade just wiped me out. All of them were barely hurt. Could someone post a suggestion!
Thanks,
Chris

Two of several strategies,
Stand outside room (far enough to not start dialogue) Cast web, entangle, stinking cloud (or wand of cloudkill), and as many fireballs as you can into the room. Pick off anybody left standing with bows/slings. If anyone makes it to the door have your fighter(s) cut them down.
Lure the bad guys out one by one. Have only a single character go upstairs and then have them go back down stairs. One at a time makes them 'bite' sized. - Curdis.

Confusion spells work great. They're all hard as nails so make 'em fight each other. Harp of discord works wonders with a mage casting confusion.

You will most likely have to put off fighting them for now. It's not that you can't beat them at this level ,it will just be real hard. Do a couple of the other quest and then come back.

Well it can be done at a lower level with a little luck. At the door try to use some summon monsters that might help and make sure every one can use range weapons and have lots of magic ready to go like magic missile also try to haste every one just case some guys make it threw. It took me a few time to get out a live but did it early in the game. Figured if there this hard they must have some goodies. If all else fails cast time stop then kill kill kill.(maybe not)
Listen to Weasel. He is wise beyond his ethics.
If you want to try and tackle them, it will be dificult. Try the confusion and chaos in the room. Try to take out the mage and Pooky as soon as possible. Get as many people in the room with invisibility, backstab the mage, and fight fast. The thief will run out of the room and escape if you let him. Use any summoning spells you can.
But remember, take out the spellcasters first, before they cast their confusion. You may need to run one character into the room and flee their first set of spells. You could also cast a fireball into the room behind the barbarian, so that you hit the mage but don't trigger the conversation.
