Okay, I have played my group up to the point I go into the Harper Hideout, and already Nalia is proving to be a very pathetic thief. She cannot even detect the traps in Prebek's house, and can barely pick the lock to the drawer. I have to say, after using Nalia for a little time, she is not a good enough thief.
Sigh, so now I'm going to restart (again) and charge after Imoen (if you do the gem-selling trick and buy 9 arrows of piercing from the thief on the second floor in Gaelen Bayle's house, and then sell it all back for 5400 gp, you can make 15000 gp right after Hendak's slaver quest.
No, everyone says that memorizing spells right after Imoen will help, and I know this is true (it's what I did the first time I beat Baldur's Gate II before I reformatted my computer and lost my saved game). So what I need are scroll cases -- lots of them. My friend had three the alst time I was at his house, and he said he found them just looking around.
I know you can get one from Lady Yuth in the Adventure Mart. Where else can you get them?
Thanks,
- Jon, who is going to go through Irenicus' dungeon for something like the tenth time now.
Where Can I Buy Scroll Cases?
One from the merchant near the Harper's Headquarters in the Docks District

I found one scroll case at the scroll merchant in Waukeens Promenade (map location will show where, it's right to your starting point, a little above and to the right of the tent, outside, not in one of the doors, on the top of the promenade), a second one from the scroll merchant in the back of the Adventurer's Mart (she's the one behind the bookshelves, sells according to her illegal scrolls), and a third one at the merchant near the Harper house in the docks, he's standing just in front of the gate to the yard next to the Harper house.
I'll check the other two places as soon as I can, if they're there, then I'll finally have enough scroll cases.
You do think that 5 are enough, do ya?

Five might be the right number. I'm playing a cleric / mage at the moment, and I'm doing the same sort of thing. Even after selling duplicate scrolls, I'm on my third case. Four would be good (if you're clearing out the map for Ch 2 & 3 before moving on), five may be overkill, but you never know.
Somebody ambitious could count all of the spells in the game and see how many scroll cases that would require (I think you can get 20 per case).
