How do i kill Tanar`ri?
I have tried many times but always get killed

Where did you meet them? In the Planar Sphere?

The reason I ask is because the environment can play a role in how to defeat enemies. And in the Planar Sphere, the Tanar'ri come accompanied by mephits of various forms.

Just beat the living hell out of them. Spell sequence magic missle, physically attack with everything you've got; Protection from Evil 10' radius may help considerably as well.

I guess that's the best solution there. No planning, no strategy, just hit 'm and hit 'm hard, with everything you got. You want them down ASAP.
