Wait a minute...yes, Cernd sucks, but what's all this about giving your monk a vacation? There are no NPC monks in BG2, so I'm assuming you rolled up a monk in multiplayer mode. Are you aware that if you eliminate a self-rolled NPC from your group, there is no way to get them back?! Once a secondary NPC other than the 16 in the game are removed from the group, they are gone for good. Keep this in mind.

oh no, what I do is i save, then export my monk, then i reload, delete the monk so i have a space open. Then once im dont with the NPC i save, reload, delete Cernd, and then import my monk again. It works. But i didnt take Cernd. I went to the grove tho and i guess when i was fighting the shrooms, Cernd got hit by something, because when i went to get him for the rejoin he was red and i killed em. Needlesss to say i went to duel Faldorn with Jaheria, she was lev 9 druid 7 fighter, and i still managed to beat her, so its all good, thanx for that info tho

Why take Cernd? He's not a great caster, and he's lousy in battle if he hasn't shifted shape. (When he does, he can't cast, so that's another negative.) I'd sooner take Jaheira: superior spells, she can wear plate, and when you give her a decent weapon and a couple of proficiency points, she becomes an acceptable secondary tank.
