Balduran equipment

Post by VitisVinifera2 »

So I went to Diedre, the bonus wench, to buy that crucial Shield of Balduran for Korgan, who already has the Helm of Balduran. I notice she also has the sword and plate armor of Balduran, and I've seen in a post a reference to a cloak of Balduran. Has anyone equipped all the Balduran equipment, and if so, did anything neato happen? For those of you who play Diablo 2, you know what happens when you assemble an equipment set (Sigon, etc). Please share your opinions..........or experiences........

Actually, the cloack of Balduran ain't available in this BG - just in the BG1 Image

Still, it is in Shadowkeeper, along with some neat tomes (from BG1 those too)

The Shield of Balduran makes killing Beholders almost too easy.

Yeah that's why I got the shield of Balduran......the -4 AC bonus isn't too shabby either.
It would be pretty cool, if in BG3, there were scattered pieces of equipment with some insane legend behind them, and if you assembled them, say a sword/axe, shield, helmet, cloak, armor, boots, gauntlets...that you would become that person, or gain their powers (perhaps an NPC). So the cloak is in BG1......for Balduran then I have seen the Helm, Shield, Sword, and Plate armor.....are there any other pieces? There's a butter knife too......heh

The cloak of mirroring makes the shield almost obsolete.

...or maybe you could find a hammer, a girdle and some gauntlets and they make some amazing artifact? yeah, that would be cool.

I think the set bonus is +2 proficency in fashion, unfortunately you need the golden platoons to get the grandmastery in this. This is however, not implemented in any way through the game (save the romance I guess). Image

As I recall, the Golden Pantaloons now come with the Magical Zipper of Chastity +1.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
