The best armor?

Post by Square »

I'm doing a paladin.
Not very good in planing battle.
Tired of being charmed, hold, dominate, ...
I figure out that there is not much you can do to resist it. Not even Minsc berserk can do much about it.
So a good armor will do great when you are surrounded by enemy.
Can I have it?

Usually the best armor will be some version of Full Plate. Rather than trying to survive being beaten on while incapacitated, these will help keep it from happening. Some of these are hard to get though...probably your best bet is Shield of Harmony or Lilacor.

Shield of Harmony: Immune to Charm, Confusion, Domination, and Hold Person

Ring of Free Action: Free Action

Aeger's Hide +3: Immune to Confusion (AC 3)

Helm of Charm Protection: Immune to Charm

Arbane's Sword: Free Action

Lilacor: Immune to Charm and Confusion

Spear of the Unicorn: Immune to Charm and Hold

Dragonslayer: Immune to Fear

Carsomyr: +50% magic resist

Blackrazor: Immune to Charm and Fear (but you're not going to get it for a long, long time if at all.)

Yeah, Red Dragon Scale is pretty good, but it doesn't solve his real problem and if he's having that much trouble with confusion, imagine the problems he'll have with wing buffet.

Beside that, dragon armor isn't really as good as full plate against slashing, piercing, or missile. Full plate gets -4, -3, -3 modifiers for them. Dragon scale gets nothing. Even normal, unmagical full plate protects better against anything except blunt and the girdle of bluntness can make up for that...you'll take a lot more damage from those kinds of attacks than you will from fire.

That said, I still use Red Dragon Scale because it's cool.

Anyone notice that Firkragg (sp?) seems to have infinite Heals? If you're going to Cloudkill him, stack them up (one on top of another). I had to get about 8 running on him at once (Sorcerer + Nalia + Cleric/Mage) before the Cloudkills would get ahead of the Heals.
