I had Branwen(have i spelt the name right?, for a bit in BG1.
She was quite useful but i got rid of her in favour of Dynheir.
I have realised that the only appearance she makes(that i know of) is in the tutorial, and i only know that she is on that because my litle brother went on it.
Did something happen to her at the end of BG1? Or was she just not included?

Nope, I'm afraid you didn't miss anything, Xan and Branwen both are in the tutorial but not in the game.
Oddly enough, I don't believe that even The Darkest Day (TDD, a huge mod made by TeamBG) includes them, even tho it does include other old NPCs such as Yeslick, Kagain, Xzar and Montaron, among others.
