Kangaxx/Daystar/Flame Tongue

Last night I was killing the Demi-Lich and noticed something I hope can be sorted out.

I had yet to attack Kangaxx with Daystar, usually use Casomfer (sp.),Cromfaer and Rynn Staff as the killing weapons, but I didn't have any of those last night. Just Daystar and Flametongue.

So I was killing the lich part with Celestial Fury and he changed to the Demi...
...no problem, scroll of Magic resistance and daystar, started attacking him and it said "weapon inaffective" WTF!!

changed to flame Toungue and that worked.

My question was: I thought Daystar worked, so is Kangaxx CE or not or does Daystar not work against him?
Because I was thinking in the future of having a fighter dualwielding Daystar/Fametongue against him (2-4 instead of 1-2 points damage), but that is now out. Or was there a mantle etc spell hanging over from when Kangaxx was a Lich?

Daystar is only a +2 weapon. Kangaxx requires +4 weapons and above to affect him.
Spells like minute meteor showers and fire elementals work as well.

It says +4 vs Chaotic Evil opponents in the Description
Thus my asking why it didn't work

So is Kangaxx Chaotic Evil or Neutral/Lawful Evil or Daystar dosn't work like it says.

Because Flametongue is only +1 normally, but +2 vs Shapechangers, +3 vs Fire/cold creatures and +4 vs undead!

Yes Flame tongue does work but Daystar is "broken" in that area.
Use the spell on Daystar instead, its very effective.

Actually,the Flametongue is always considered to be +4 enchanted,(bug?)so it can hit anything that requires +4 weapons,not just undead creatures.

as the discriptoin of flame togue say's it's allways considered +4 on what it can hit.

Daystar does +4 to some enemy's but its dicription say's

allways consideredd +2 on what it can hit.

Thats why you can't hit the Demi-lich with it
