I have played BG2 SoA twice, but today I discovered that one of my discs is damaged and unreadable. Will this prevent me from playing ToB? I have BG2 installed, and have no wish to kill Irenicus again. If I can just start ToB no problem, I will buy it right away.
Thanks for your help.

If you have a full install you sould not have any problems with playing ToB and SoA.
I know that ToB will require more disk space if we dont have a full install. (because of override files) so I think that only needs the ToB disk.
You sould contact Interplay for replacing that disk (I know that it costs money but beats having to buy a new game right) in case if you decide to uninstall the game and want to play the game again later.

The only thing that might be a problem is if you have any customized stuff in your install, especially custom items.
ToB install does not simply replace the Dialog.tlk like TotSC did for BG, it tries to patch it, and any custom items that have been imported and have new descriptions will have modified the tlk file indexing. The ToB install can't deal with this, and you end up with some blank conversations.
The only cure for that scenario is to backup your mods/overrides and do a clean install of BG2. I've heard that if you put in Baldurdash before the expansion it will work, but not after. I can't verify this myself so don't quote me on it. It might even be best to wait for Kevin to update his fixpack (which I'm sure is high on his list right after he plays the expansion first) before adding it in.
Hope this information helps.
