How do i get Thieve to backstab, forgot>?

I was in chapter three my first time through , when i accidently deleted BG2 with all save files. Now i am on my way of getting back to that spot , many months later (Ticked off at myself) , and i forgot how to get my thiefe to backstab. Could Someone Help me out. THNX

You first have to Hide in Shadows, then position yourself behind the ennemy target and finally you attack as usual. Note that the attack has to be made with a weapon suited for back stabbing, such as a dagger, short sword, long sword, katana, scimitar etc. A hammer or a two handed sword, for example, won't do.
