BG1 and BG2 are great games, but I have just two small gripes about each.
1) Grammatical Errors in scripts. Dynaheir in BG1 was the worst ('thy wish my ear?' for 'thou wishest mine ear?'). Someone at Bioware needs to do their homework in Middle English, or even 19th century archaisms, and basic grammar. 'Thy' is the genitive, not the nominative, case. Hire someone with a degree in English literature!
2) The internal decorations are terrible--inexplicably so when the external parts of the houses are so good. From the outside they look authentic, but the moment you step inside any of the private houses you might just as well be in Burbank, California. Sofas, loveseats, bookcases all from the 20th century. Someone needs to do some research on what the inside of a medieval residence looked like. The pubs, for some reason, are much more plausible.

I really enjoyed your points Grimbold, but as for point#2, who says that AD&D is set in medieval times? It says in the DMG that the weapons are medieval, but it never says that the world is medieval. Last I checked, there were no elves, dwarves, gnomes, etc., hopping around 12th century England. The clash in architectural styles between the exterior and interior of the buildings could be an indication of the same bizarro forces that formed the other humanoid races.
But you're of course right, the furniture is from the plane of 21st Century Irvine.

So there *is* a use for english literature students.
Guess the guys at bioware didn't want to be swamped by references from people who only have McD's on their resumes...
