From all I have read by now, nope, there isn't. Would make an interesting read for a Necromancer that can get the writings to reappear (hmmm... candles maybe? ;) :D ), but till now, I haven't heard of any way you could do that. Maybe we'll get to find out more in ToB, but that is another story alltogether.

Nothing at all. Kaza is only useful to raise a little money when you need it, towards the beginning of the game.
