I have now compeleted the game working with the thieves and I'm about ready to attack the thieves on Bohdi's side. I really can't see a reason to play Bohdi's side...
Roleplay - As LG, CG, NG you would want to work with the lesser of the evils, Keldorn won't even stay in the party if you work with Bohdi. As LE, NE, CE the player is out for his own gain and working with the thieves is the safer and more lucrative option. Only with N players can I see a case. As N you may want to balance out the good you're doing with the rest of your quests. As LN or CN do whatever you want at the time.
Gameplay: For siding with the thieves you immediately get the Amulet of Power (easily worth the 15k gold) and another item thrown in. You also get a little help in storming Bohdi's lair later on. So far the only thing I've gotten from going with Bohdi is easier access to the Mace of Disruption. Additionally, if you go with Bohdi you can't do Mae'var's Guildhall and when I did Mae'var's Guildhall then went looking for Bohdi it seemed she had decided to quit waiting for me and the vampires in the street had decided I was an enemy.
Bohdi or Thieves side? (Minor Spoilers)

I am convinced siding with the thieves is the best "power gamer's" option. Think about it:
A) Vampires are worth more XP per kill.
B) Certain characters will quit or voice displeasure if you side with the vamps.
C) Instant amulet of power, which conveniently prevents level drain.
D) You're gonna kick their ass later in the game anyways, might as well get a head start.
E) You don't get Edwin, the best NPC IMHO, if you side with the vamps.
However if you are a true role-player and you are an evil-alligned party, you SHOULD side with the vampires. Although, you miss out on adding Edwin to your party that way, which is a harsh bummer.
