How to get rid of the demogorgon
How to get rid of the demogorgon
Fellow members of the forums, I have been trying ways and means to kill the demogorgon, and yet I can't even get near him. Not to mention hitting him. Is there any way to kill this idiot, I need your advice here. The designers are really sick to design this creature....*no offence*
Your help will be very much appreciated...

He is back and in 3-d!
Heres how i did it...after about 1hr of trying to defeat him and his endless minions i noticed that
if you don't kill the first two merideths (sp)...the ones with 6 arms...he won't summon anymore...therefore. forget about them and concentrate a full on assault on the demogorgon.
What especially helped was anomen cast regeneration on my inquisitor and himself and we attacked from both ends while jahaira and imoen kept those 2 six armed ladies busy...
What actually killed him was my inquisitor used his ability to hit 10 times in a round twice and that got him feeling some pain.
Also forget about summoning monsters to help...he'll kill em right away...if you summon demons he'll say something silly like "you cannot turn my own against me" and cast implosion on them...dead. Basically get your toughest fighters get them regenerating and with healing potions and +4 or +5 weapons and hack away 10 times a round.

Glory, formally Genesis who forgot his damn password.
Don't have ToB here, so I can't try out myself, but...
Nature's Beauty is incredibly effective against creatures with good saves. Forget about the insta-kill: it blinds, permanently, no save). If that affects the Meridiths or the Demogorgon, you're in business.
How about if you petrify, polymorph, imprison or blind these things? If no more appear, you have some breathing room.if you don't kill the first two merideths (sp)...the ones with 6 arms...he won't summon anymore...therefore. forget about them and concentrate a full on assault on the demogorgon.

Here are his stats (posted on blackisle forums by Setsuna (have to give her credit)
Demogorgon
HP: 290
AC: -12, -14 for missiles
THAC0: -8
5 attacks
Resists:
100 fire
100 electricity
50 cold
90 magic
50 magic cold
100 magic fire
10 slashing
10 piercing
10 crushing
10 missile
The saves are the same.
His attacks are as the following:
Considered magical (+5 enchantment). Inflicts disease with each hit. Regenerates about 6 hp per second or so.
Immune to:
Charm
Panic
Poison
Sleep
Stun
Slay (vorpal again)
Feeblemind
Disease
Hold
Confusion
Petrify
Polymorph
Death spells
So strategize away ... I think the whirlwind attack idea with very high-level fighters is the best strategy for him and just about anything else in TOB. I just started playing and had Sarevok do 200hp on one crit hit - insta-kill of bad guy.

If you hit him with a couple of Lower Resistances (Spell Trigger, anyone?), Demo-boy seems to be vulnerable to both Nature's Beauty and Imprisonment.

He isn't that tough... I offed him in my first try!
I cast just about every single protection spell I had, summoned in a Deva and two Elemental Princes. Imoen and Nalia used Improved Alacrucity and bombarded the sucker with Spell Strikes, Pierce Magic, Breach and Lower Resistance etc. Anomen rained Holy Smite, Bolt of Glory etc on the whole congregation. Keldorn (ForBane) and my Paladin PC (Holy Avenger) were both regenerating and used Hardiness, Greater Whirlwind Attack, Critical Strike etc in close combat. I focused solely on the Demogorgon, and didn't use a single healing porion in the battle. The Deva died, but who cares about that - she's a summoned creature.
