first i wanted to thank all the people who helped me with my problem earlier in the game, thanks. and now i wanted to know what do you guys, who have the game, think of it so far. please don't put any spoilers, just general thoughts.
i'm still very early in the game, but so far it's nice. i'm hoping for more diagolue later though, no one really has talked much. and the fight sequences are at time hard, for me atleast, i'm new to all this rpg stuff. and the music in the game at times reminds of the movies: connan the barbian and the mummy returns. just my thoughts, but i seriously still would have preferred if bioware went ahead and made a bg3 instead of a throne of bhaal to finish the story, i would have galdly waited to play another 200 hr bg game.
first impressions on tob (no spoilers plz)
Well, so far ist been great. But I dont find it as hard as the old one. But I have reloaded a coupe of times etc. I dont know where I am in the game, but I have been playing for some time.
But I must also say, that the special abilities are causing me some concerns.. they seem very powerfull. The dragons breath spell that the mage gets, really leaves a path of destuction behind. But there will always be some monster waiting to laugh at that spell I guess.

There are some good dialogs, especially with Sarevok and Imoen. I was worried at first, myself, but they finally got talking. Also, Aerie's romance is apparently the most interesting (surprise).
Some of the special abilities are terrific. Planetars and Devas are incredible.
ToB was far easier than SoA was to me the first run through, but I think this is because. The dragons are far more challenging and fun, but still doable. I seriously reloaded after unsuccessful combat only against the boss (who is not easy). As in, I played up to the boss without having my PC dying or Viconia run out of memorized Raise Dead spells (didn't get Mass Raise Dead, but I wished I had against the next-to-last form of the boss, the one that wasted my PC twice). I didn't do watcher's keep so my characters were low-mid 20's; Viconia was lvl 24 or 25, the highest level in my party. I had six characters in my party, however, and had tons of firepower from both fighters and mages: Dualed F/M (Blackrazor rules! Well, when you don't need better than +3), Keldorn (I was going to use just five characters but I'm VERY glad I took him along), Korgan (eventually used Crom Faer and Rune Hammer), Sarevok (near-perfect fighter with a devastating combat ability unique to himself; there are lots of good two handed swords, started with Soul Reaver), Imoen (take her for the dialogs, also an adequate thief with some items), and Viconia.
I recommend experienced players wanting a challenge try a higher difficulty level or use fewer characters. You will probably have problems against the boss if you don't have at least three good fighters, though.
