Does killing the merchant in the beginning come back and bite you in the ass later? I always kill him, and nothing seems to happen, even though he's an old friend (supposedly)

I've gone beserk in Candlekeep before, with a party of six level 7/7/7 Fighter/Cleric/Mages, who promptly exited Candlekeep and marched south until they were slain by Drizzt.
I killed Phylidia in cold blood, and nobody in Winthrop's Inn seemed to care. I kept killing, until my reputation hit rock bottom. Only then did everyone turn hostile to me. Even Gorion was hostile, and he seems to be able to cast unlimited Lightning Bolts. Gorion can be killed, but if you can't talk to him, how are you supposed to leave Candlekeep?

you can go wild in Candle keep with ease, everyone is so weak. I decided to import my cleric illusionist into the keep by himself, I took out the whole city (with the help of some skeletons, my thaco is way too high) but that cleric guy in red (he is a major character) is invunerable, he keeps casting mad ammounts of lightning, without even casting, he killed me fast, but I think you can kill Gorion, I messed him up, but he must have ALOT of health. I wanna try it with a potion of electric immunity!

how did you do that???? you had more than 1 person in your party but gorion was still there that really makes more since so i suggest when you make up a story you should pay attention to details. Oh and even if your at level 7 he kills you in one hit don't ask why but it is true

I think tethoril cannot be killed. Can't be totally sure though. But has ony1 killed Shandalar? I haven't been successful in it, but I tried only three times. He casts too many fireballs and flesh to stones. I managed to do some damage... But its reduced greatly. Usually he took like 1 or 2 dam but minsc with crit did 6.

Kill Tethrotil

Im sure that this guy is killeable.Finish the game with a multiplayer party with 6 ultra powerfull characters then import them 6.2 mages and 1 cleric 3 fighters with 18/93+ strenght.Cast all the cleric's aids and chant and whatever boost Taco.
Then shoot Magic Missiles on him like mad and you fighter should do enough damage(always hits)to ill this red guy. However, Gorion is easy to kill since he dont have alot of HP.My LVL8 Dwarf Fighter can do 60+ damage when critical hit.

but to protect against tethtoril's lightning, you need protection from magic scroll, that spell erases all your enchantments. i had 6 fighters fighting him, but critical hits are rare and he regenerates like mad. (hmm...maybe protection from lightning scrolls?)

gorion is easy to kill, you dont even need that good of a thaco.

having a party to start is possible... i've done it as well... played by my self on a multi-player. and gorion was still there... he had to be. DON'T tell someone there makeing a story up unless you know 100% that they are.
