Importing New Character Portraits

Post by Jkittenluv21 »

Hello to everyone, first of all! :D
I was wondering if anyone can recommend sites that have character portraits to download; I am growing bored with the ones that came with the game. Also, if there are sites that have instructions on how and where to download them, as I am a little bit downloading challenged. Sorry if this question has been posted a million times, but I didn't find any information in the posts so far. Thanks very much!! :)

Hi, and welcome to Game Banshee :)

I suggest you check out the BG2 Crossroads Reference Sticky, which is here:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showt ... 366&page=1

You'll find all sorts of great material, including some awesome portrait sites, in the above link :)

Another possibility would be to do a Google search on Luis Royo (I can't post any links here because much of his material can be quite 'adult'.. which would get me banned :D ). A lot of his work, however, dwells in the realm of fantasy, and much lends itself to portrait adaption if you know how to use an edit programme like 'Paint' ;)

also you could just poke around some fantasy art sites and make your own portraits. That's what I usually end up doing.

Some of his stuff is quite dark and extreme.. but he does have some really great fantasy artwork that lends itself well to RPG portraits.

This is from a Royo piece I really like

I'm not a huge fan of the Royo artwork I've seen put into portraits so far as far as male portraits go. I have however recently taken a liking to Larry Elmore . He's got some really nice stuff.
