Pantaloons. What are they for?

I have a pair of gold, silver, and bronze pantaloons. Now can any one give me a clue what to do with these things.

The gold pantaloons are turned into a suit of armor, the silver pantaloons are turned into a crossbow and the bronze pantalettes are turned into ammo for the crossbow. I won't give you more info than that because I don't want to spoil it too much for you. But I will say that going through all the work to get the bonus stuff is way worth it.

Well, actually, that's not accurate. All three are needed to get anything.
