My first playtrough, all the fights were my favorites :D But i've just finished it a second time, and i found that the game is extremely easy if you are a little experienced and have developed some good combat tactics. Yes, i played on max. difficulty. The only fight were i had to reload 2-3 times was the battle in the place with the guy who's soul was in the dagger. That should do for veterans :)

Slythe and Krystin, in the Undercellar. They're psycho, but in a very neat way. I love the dialogue you get when you meet them.

My Fave Fight, hmm...

It was against another party, don't think they had a name, south of nashkel. My whole party except me died before they even got in a hit. Needles to say i thought i was done for it. But hey, a dwarf avenging his fallen comrades is better than a whole army of goblins(he had better stash than a goblin would).

I'd love to discribe the battle in whole, but 'im typing one-handed now(my hand got stepped on during a soccer match, looked like he had boots of oblivion). I'll be back in full typing soon, and then i'll start posting more than once a week agian.

Leest fave battle: SILKE

Honestly, with all the time I've spent playing SoA/ToB with various MODs, none of the fights in the original game seem difficult in the least anymore. But during my first play-through, I would probably say either the fight with the last Iron Throne mercenaries you meet before taking on Sarevok or Aec'Latec.

Aec'Latec is the demon who is summoned by cultists in Ulgoth's Beard after you return with the soultaker dagger from Durlag's Tower.

I love group fights. Probably the coolest fight in Bg1 is the one at the Helm and Cloak inn. :)
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

Guys, who do you think i used "the guy in the place" etc? Please watch for spoilers, after all these years there still might be a person out there who's game is now screwed because of all the spoilers in this thread...

The battle wich gave me the hardest time was, after Nashkell, when you find four women that are "bounty hunting" you. They got very good equip, with stuning darts and armor and readily prepared spells.

The funniest battle is the entrance of cloakwood mines, when those guys have a good and well equiped party too, but have been wacked nevertheless.

And the best over all is Davaeorn. "Ah. Insolent adventurers get down to my lair"or something... So cool... I have been beaten by him twice, I remember that when I kicked his heart out of his chest I jumped out of the chair and shouted DIE YOU...
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.

Idd that was one of the hardest fights in the game.. That guy was though. But the loot was worth it, and no one escapes entangle + missile weapons :)

sheesh... guys.

BG has no hard fights, sure there are times when your roaming through some area, and your unexpectidly attacked by some kind of formidible opponent, where perhaps one of your characters dies. However, these situations only occur because your unprepared, and not expecting it. There isnt really any fights that will take more than 1 load, and only because the first time its often unexpected, or some freak inncident happens, like 5 black talon elites all attacking your mage or several cobalt commando's doing the same.

Guys, I'm wondering what kind of characters you all play with, my PC is a Gnome : Cleric, Illusionist. Its a great magical combo. (I'm currently replaying the game, so that I can use the golden pantiloons, and I'm not yet at BG, I'm near the bandit camp.) Other people in my party are : Minsc, Khaigen, Jahera, Edwin, Branwen (although I feel she will be replaced for Viconia or that other cleric illusionist in BG)

I think your teams must be weak, and thats why you have problems with characters like Silke and such.

Hmm, I actually remember one hard fight. Its the time you fight Severvok in a dream, when your dreaming of Candle keep. That fight was tough, because I didn't want to just run run run, so it was difficult being a mage, it took me about 3 loads.)

Man, I'm on a big ****ing rant!

Well... perhaps we play the game pure and are not such cheese users. With cheese i mean prebuffing for fights your characters would never have seen coming, like the Greywolf one. There don't exist things as "weak teams". You could win all the battles with a solo druid or bard. sheesh.... me0w

heh, sorry if that sounded rude. I'm not a "cheese gamer", but you sometimes need to reload when for some reason one of my weak magish characters are walking ahead of everyone. But common, the fights are easy.

There are weak teams, any team with Garrik or Xan, or characters like that, those guys make anyteam weak.

Sheesh :P

Well, the topic wasn't so much about hard fights as much as it was about favorite fights. I have to say though, there were a couple of hard fights, actually more than a couple, when I played this game for the first time.
