Which Playable NPC from the BG series would you like to see in BG3??
Hey guys just wondering who you would like to bring back from the previous baldurs gate games. I would definetly want back edwin (Because hes insanely powerful and his dialouges great) and viconia (Because of her attitude and 50% magic resitance ) Anyway just vote on which playable npc you would like to bring back it can be from bg1 bg2 and tob mods dont count.

Imoen was in BGI and BGII. Why not BGIII? She's cool, now she's a powerful archmage (archmagess?), and I'd love to see her again. Maybe not as a party member anymore (she'd probably be way imbalanced), but it'd be cool if, during a quest or something, you'd get to meet her. It would be interesting, to say the least.
Minsc and Boo! Ok, not Minsc and Boo. They deserve a well-earned break.
In all seriousness, they should quit it with the stupid Drow theme. Already, BGII is chocked with it, ToB is too, and NWN's third expansion is ALL Drow. It's been done to death, they should look somewhere else for inspiration. Take a cue from Planescape: Torment. Try some planar critters. Tieflings might be interesting. They always talk about how dangerous Rakshasa are. Show us.
Edwin, well, meh. I guess so, although I'd rather see some newer faces. How about Mazzy? I'd like to see Mazzy around.

New faces, please. I loved running with the BG1&2 NPCs, but if the story is to be new, I would rather it really be new. Unless there is a particular plot device that absolutely hinges on the reuse of an old character, I like to see characters remain in the stories that feature them. Few things annoy me more than seeing spurious repeat characters make integral reappearances in books, movies, etc. It's as though the authors are either unable to create new, interesting characters, or want to somehow "relive" the old experience again and again, and can't let it go (not very healthy, psychologically...). If you want a quick cameo appearance of an old "friend", that is one thing. Fortunately, we already know what happens to all of the playable NPCs at the conclusion of BG2, so the likelihood of any major reuse is slim.
I agree. I would like to see BGIII be a completely original game having nothing to do with the previous games. All I'd like to see kept from the BG series is the land of Faerun. Anything else would be a let down in my mind. If it's been this long in waiting for an announcement they can do well enough and do something completely original.

Absolutely new. I would tolerate, however, having your party run across a party NPC or two from BG2, now in another role, perhaps as the giver of a couple of quests, or just making a cameo--Jan, Minsc, Keldorn, Jaheira, Viconia, Edwin: any of these and more, but mercifully kept to only one or two, and just for a bit.
Only way I could see myself wanting to run into BG-sereis NPCs would be in a sort of tutorial role at the start.
I like that idea! Hopefully, if a sequel gets made, someone will steal it from you.

Hmmm.....
(spoilers ahead)
Edwin was killed by Elminster some time after the end of the Bhaalspawn saga. And if you romanced Viconia, she would be assasinated. Pretty hard to bring dead characters back to life for a cameo (although they did it with Tazok)

I would want to kill the old characters
But seriously, I think that it would be cool to run into a couple of characters from BG2. I don't remember what happened to each of them after TOB, but any you do meet should be in a position of great power considering how strong you were at the end of TOB. Also, I agree that if they are used it should only be a couple of them for cameos. I hate the idea of being barraged by Npc's from an earlier game.

EDWIN + JAN!! Easily the 2 greatest characters to grace our screens!!
Although as Moltivar (sp?) mentioned, he's dead, and I forgot what happened with Jan.
A character who I'm now fond of is Coran, I've never used him till last week, and I've spent my time with him speeding accross the screens slaughtering everything solo with stealth
Why wasn't he in #2!?
Oh, also, Boo, to be honest I don't care about Minsc, but I'd be esctatic to see boo, he owns so much, giant space hampster!!
