Subj. After the spell has been used the spare shots stay in the weapon slot. I even cannot change the weapon.

I think, and I'm not sure since I usually avoid Melf's, that if you cast dispel magic on yourself that you clear off any unused meteors. Try that. Either that, chuck them at a NPC.

Nope, no penalty on your reputation. Animal rights weren't real big in those days. Heh, I just toss a meteor at them when I see them, regardless.

The best way to get rid of excess MMMs is to stand right next to your tank, the one with the best AC. Then fling them at him/her. Most of them will miss, since your mage has a THAC0 of 65, anyway.
