Collections and their setups

Post by HiRo11er »

So anyone exploring the game for an amount of time will inevitably find heaps of sweet treasure that you can't just ignore, but at the same time it's not something you need at the moment.

I'm curious as to what people do with their stash, and how they arrange it. Personally I'll usually have some kind of home base (usually a great house stronghold or the camonna tong HQ in balmora, because of tis convenient location & storage capacity) where I proudly exhibit the sweetest goods in meticulous patterns on the main tables and surfaces. The rest of my loot goes in barrels and crates, sorted in categories ranging from potions and scrolls to random magickal loot, excuisite clothes and a separate container for all my quest items.

What other ways do people store their treasure, and what oddities do you collect? I always end up taking diamonds, for example, even though I'm not an alchemist right now and I don't sell them... :-)
I've already heard of pillow collections somewhere on these boards, but someone has to collect something weirder!

usually balmora becomes home base.

anyway most gear if it's either unique, or shiny gets put on a series of tables, where everything is carefully arranged to look right, along w/ a tray of goblets and brandy (along w/ a restore fatigue potion for rough hangovers)

ingredients go in crates & barrels, w/ my alchemy works arranged on top.

shelves are for the helmet collection, which is really the only thing i "collect" trying to get every helm possible both magical & mundane.

everything else gets sold to the creeper.

I have a full set of ingredients in my stronghold (including meteor slime), replaced cups, bowls and the likes with limeware, or dwemer and silverware when I can't find the limeware. I have several full suits of ebony, admantium, glass, and even has a generous amount of daedric armour. I am currently aspiring to collect every skooma and moon sugar on Vvardenfell and completing my collection of books. As of currently I display my weapons (especially the legendary ones) around, while the books are put in chests, closets, and the like. Skooma and moon sugar are at a sack at Ahnassi's house for her personal comsumption. I also place fine liquor on my desks, dining table, and next to the bed. I use Caius Cosade's house, Ahnassi's house, and my stronghold to store things.

well personally most of the stuff i display is random stuff that you don't see in many places.... beakers, dwemer cylinders, meteor slime, muck shoveld etc.... i also love the telvanni dust adept and mole crab helms (only the mundane ones thoiugh)..... most other stuff is kept in my redoran stronghold, amrour all in crates or urns with the helmet on top for quick finding, and weapons aranged on the roof of hlallu manor in balmora. (i say all this, even though i now have nothing as i just started a new game and deleted my old one  )

I collect everything and anything. I store it all in the Hlaalu and Nerano Manors in Balmora. I've currently run out of room to store things in the Nerano Manor (without getting the Overflow Lootbag in there) so I started piling things outside in the courtyard, there. I started putting everything in a pile (which is tremendously large right now, by the way) in hopes that an Overflow Lootbag would appear there, next to my door. Does anyone know if this will happen? Or will I need a massive amount of items since it is an open area? I heard that the Lootbag appears when there are too many items in one area, but I was wondering if it would appear since it is a rather large courtyard that I am piling things in...

I take everything from everywhere, and store them in big, ugly piles on the floor of whatever building I have confiscated as my own. :D

I have Tarmar and the simple Caldera Warehouse mods so I use them. My Tarmar keep came with lots of mannequins so I set them up around the keep and display my sets of armor on them. I also put all my cool weapons on a display table. Unfortunately, my table is full now, and I don't know which house mod to get.

It's an excellent place to live. Along with the Nerano Manor located across the street.

I once had about 40+ weapons in my room in my stronghold, but i thought that up stairs and down stairs were counted as 2 different places, so i put some limeware on the table down staires and went out to do some adventuring came back and the limeware was in the bag and i went up to check on my weapons and found that they were still there so i picked them up and put them down so they would go into the bag, my house looks very tidy now, pretty bare to.
And lo ye must learn of the great war that raged fo a couple of posts and brought the citadel momentaraly to its knees

I'm beginning to develop the nice habit of storing all the ebony & daedric stuff you don't really need later on in the game, in the capable hands of muddie & creeper... & they give me money for them!

As for the unique stuff, I can (unlike bloodstalker... ;-)) be ridiculously anal-retentive sometimes about how my stuff is positioned. Nothing frustrates me more than having some stubborn sword that refuses to lie in the same direction as the others! Why does the one sword feel the need to lie across and on top of all of the others? Usually I'll put it in a crate or something, until it settles down...

Oh, one more thing.

So it's true that if you pile enough items on top of each other, you will eventually get something called an 'overflow bag'? Never heard of it before. It sounds weird, because on several occasions I've been caught doing some dumb crime, only to have a guard come running after me. My only choice then is to get nekkid right away, since I never remember what items I've stolen and which ones I was given honestly... & I've never seen such a bag!

I imagine it's a cloth bag that can store an unlimited number of items?

Isn't the overflow bag only for x-box?

I know you can get it outside, my friend did on one of the towers in Balmora. But I was wondering how much stuff I would have to stack before I could get one in the courtyard.

The Overflow Lootbag appears when you have too many items in one area. I, too, have dropped all of my things (because I can't keep track of them all, either  ) because of guards and the Bag has never appeared outside. Even when I took all the contents of a cave and piled them up in one place in side the cave, I still didn't get a Bag. So I was wondering how much stuff it would take for me to get an Overflow Lootbag in the courtyard in Balmora, because that is a much larger area than any rooftop.
