Hi.
i thought that fighters were able to dual class to mages, but the dual class bar isnt highlighting. My fighter has 18 intellegence, so i dont think that is a problem. He just turned level 2. Any help is appreciated.
P.S., which is the most useful speciallist mage (as in, the one that isnt able to use dinivation, which is useless)
Help - Fighter dual class to mage?
Zlarm, race counts as well! Not all races can dual class. Actually, I think only humans can.
About specialization:
The advantage is that you gain extra spells each level (a simple mage would have one less, I think), but you can't learn (can't even cast) spells of your opposite school.
I made a bit of research on this site (where else yould one look?
) and found this for you:
Abjurer - Cannot scribe/cast Alteration spells
Conjurer - Cannot scribe/cast Divination spells
Diviner - Cannot scribe/cast Conjuration spells
Enchanter - Cannot scribe/cast Invocation spells
Illusionist - Cannot scribe/cast Necromancy spells
Invoker - Cannot scribe/cast Enchantment/Conjuration spells
Necromancer - Cannot scribe/cast Illusion spells
Transmuter - Cannot scribe/cast Abjuration spells
So the thing to consider is what type of spell you DON'T want to use, since you can use all the others freely. E.g. you decide to become a necromancer, you gain more spells each lvl than a simple mage would, but cannot cast Illusion spells at all (and that sucks, b/c those are really useful, like Mirror Image or Mislead). I think a simple mage is the best, b/c he can cast any spell, and as you progress he will become very powerful anyway, one spell less won't matter at all

If you want to dual class into a specialist mage you need to have the scores it requires. You also need a good score in Intelligence.
Requirements:
Abj.15 Wis.
Conj.15 Cons
Div.16 Wis.
Ench.16 Char.
Ill.16 Dex.
Inv.16 Cons.
Necro.16 Wis.
Alt.15 Dex.
And any mage must have 9 Int. to be a mage.To dual class you will need 15 Int.
