What kinds of undead are raised with Cleric spell Animate dead?
I am loving right now the Armored Skeleton :p

Sooner or later you'll get Boneguard Skeletons and Zombie Lords (both good but zombie lords move bloody slowly) and then, I believe you start to get Apocolyptic Boneguards and Drowned Dead, but that takes ages. That's as far as I can gather, but Animate Dead is definately my favourite Summoning spell, it's genius.

Animate dead is probably the best summon spell around. You get progressively better and better Skeletons and Zombies. The Zombies are good in combat but are VERY slow. The Boneguard Skeletons move at normal speed and can really dish out the damage. Plus they have some good resistances.

Shades and the Shadow Conjuration spells are also good as you get Salamanders with a fire aura pretty easily and soon after Umberhulks and Frost Giants etc. But Animate Dead rules all. It single handedly makes many otherwise impossible battles easy.

The first time I tried to cast Animate Dead I was really po'ed. In my semi-awakened state, I couldn't figure out why the spell wasn't doing anything. Then I realized that it would be more effective if I casted it on a slain creature instead of just where I wanted it. lol

Hmmmm are you sure we're talking about the same spell?

You should be able to cast Animate Dead anywhere, just like the other Monster Summoning Spells. You don't need a body to cast it on. You might mean Raise Dead? You have to cast this on your dead Characters portrait.

I'm quite liking the Shadow Conjuration spells at the moment. I've got a wizard and bard that can both cast Shades. Shades is quicker to cast than Animate Dead and the weaker Shadow Conjuration is faster still meaning that you can summon a shadow into place and run it out to fight in front of your main party to keep the nasties at bay while your longer casting spells reslove. Besides there's something pretty cool about having a Frost Giant in your pocket, ready to spring out at any moment!
