Pre-Enchanted Trueflame- HELP!! :(

Hi all,
I've got a massive problem with the xbox version of Morrowind. I put together trueflame just fine and got it forged, but being the IDIOT that I am, I didn't read what that orc says to you about talking to a Dwemer properly. All I saw was that the blade wasn't on fire. "OK!" I thought, "No problems, I'll just take it to the enchanter upstairs." I put a fire damage enchantment on the blade, but, obviously, that wasn't quite what Almalexia had in mind!
I finally figured out what to do, but now, when I give the pyroil tar to that Sarac ghost, he tells me I don't have the blade!

My only save where I don't have the pre-enchanted trueflame is 6 HOURS EARLIER, as I had no idea that I would have this kind of problem. I REALLY don't want to have to do all that again, but unless someone can help me out, I'm going to miss out on the rest of the Tribunal storyline and heartsflame if I don't! Any help would be much appreciated.

Since you're on Xbox... you're completely screwed.

You COULD try just going for the pieces again or try talking to Almalexia, but it is unlikely you can salvage the quest. You'll have to reload I'm afraid

Noooooo! I can't believe such a massive game bug exists in a game that won Game Of The Year!! Does the story in Mournhold affect the rest of the world of Morrowind at all? i.e. if I actually finished the main quest storyline, would anything be different in the Bloodmoon add-on or Vvardenfell? If not, then all I'm missing is a few kick-ass items and the satisfaction of completing that section of the game right?
BTW, if I were to just walk in to Almalexia's High Chapel in Mournhold and kill her (no easy task with all those Hands around I know!) would I get her ring and sword anyway?

Game bug? It's entirely your stupidity, as you said

I think if you killed Almalexia you will get her sword, but I'm not so sure about her ring. You might get the unenchanted version which is junk. In fact, you might not get anything at all, since it is a different unit that is spawned when you end the quest.

But if you decide to try, good luck. You'll need it. Save first.

you shouldve saved before enchanting it...or look at your journal...i think ur screwed...
