Attacks per round question

Post by blutic1 »

Does anyone know if you get more attacks per round by using two weapons or by using a double bladed weapon instead of just using one?

If so, that seems a lot better than using one and upping dueling.

I'd imagine so. The downside of using dualblade/two blades, is that you get penalties to attack. (Harder to hit things.) (More for the off-hand, left) Most of this penalty dissapears if you have three levels in the feat dualwielding (or whatever it's called)

I cannot recall the actual rate, but I do believe with two weapon feats maxed, you get your normal max attacks for your main hand, plus two on your off hand with using two weapons. I believe maximum you could accomplish is 4, maybe 5 attacks per round with one weapon and no buffs? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I never saw the Master Two Weapon Fighting feat affect my dual-wielder awhile back. I've recently seen the incredible power of using a single-bladed saber, and just to prove it I'm going to write a guide as I go. I'm current level 11, and on my way to the second star map, including dantooine. The Master Speed power increases the number of attacks per round by 2, combined with the extra attack from Master Flurry, making the extra attack granted by dual-wielding much less significant.

I'll have to try that, your supposed to end up with more hits and a lower attack rating with two weapons though, so it could very well be you see no difference a lot of time simply because you aren't hitting with every hit because of the lower attack rating. Master Speed and Master Flurry are nice together though.

When wielding two sabers, or a doublebladed saber, you get one, and only one additional attack, no matter what buffs or feats you use.

The highest number of attacks that can be obtained is with Master Speed and Flurry. With one weapon you get 4 attacks, with two weapons you get 5 attacks.

Indeed, the +3 to attack and defense may be better, especially against thougher foes, then the 5th attack you get from wielding two weapons (which also introduces an attack penalty on the offhand).

Master Two-Weapon Fighting minimizes the To Hit penalty for using two weapons.

I've always used two sabers, Master Two Weapon, Master Speed and Master Flurry, I haven't really messed with that combination yet as it tends to work quite well for me.

been experimenting a while with a scoundrel guardian build, and i've found out something..

two bladed lightsabres were made for this build...

after checking out twin sabres and two bladed, you get the sneak attack bonus maybe once out of 10 hits with two blades, and once out of 5 hits with a two bladed...switch targets constantly, and best in a swirling melee with multiple enemies, the hits that connect when you recover from a swing, or as you're switching from original target to next target tends to hit the sides and backs of enemies, inflicting the sneak attack bonus...its rediculously powerful, in a swirling melee, watching enemies drop as the sneak attack bonus hits them from the sides or behind, dropping them like flies...forget crit strike, a two bladed lightsabre in a scoundrel guardian is incredibly effective...not to mention combining force jump with sneak attack...
