Need help with a 'good' party combo...

Post by Gawayn »

I am fairly far through the game with my Evil party and I wanted to start a 'good' group.

Currently, I have this setup.

Main, Swashbuckler. He can handle the thieving stuff, and is a good fighter/tank.

Mazzy is going to be the fighter.

I think I am going to go with Nalia for the mage, since she has pretty good saving throws with her ring.

I need a good cleric. But Amenomen stinks.

Aerie is ok, but it drives me nuts when i open the spell bar that there is sooooo many spells.

Does anyone think using Cernd would be ok?

I think I am going to use Haer'dalis again, because he is very versatile, and can double as a mage and fighter. And the bard song is *great*.

Can anyone tell me what kind of people they chose for their good party?

Thanks
Gawayn

Keldorn. You must have Keldorn the Inquisitor for the good aligned party. :)

Cernd is Ok for a while. But during the last stage of the game he'll really bite. The greater werewolf form is good in the beginning but later on he won't be so tough without armor, and he's nearly worthless in TOB. I suggest you keep Jaheira. And as a minor note, To get you to stick with Imoen the designers cheated a bit, she gains an extra spell slot per level I believe.

The more, the merrier! :)

Way to go, little sis!

Not exactly cheating if you consider that she dualled in BG1, where she could dual to a Specialist Mage.

Does she get these slots from the begining of SoA, or only after you've defeated Irenicus?

my suggestion

have seravok, aerie, minsc, vicon, and edwin.

seravok = ONE VERY GOOD tank. he can deal a good deal of damage and also last longer than minsc.

aerie = extra caster and cleric. she can heal and stuff to back up viconia and also cast wizard spells for offense. her summoning is great too.

minsc = good backup tank. he can tank pretty decently too and can support seravok.

edwin = good caster and great on summoning and offensive spells.

vicon = she is a GREAT cleric and can last a lot better because she can take a bit of damage herself. her healing ability is the best i've seen.

this is just my suggestion. =)

I've never really thought that Anomen sucked...he's actually a more rounded cleric than viconia because he can act as a back up fighter, he's turn undead is better than Vic's because it blows em up, he can actually defend himself, never needed any additional strength items like Vic does...once he got the cleric ring at 25 hes str was 19, he has as many high level spells as viconia because bonuses stop at 4...my good party that beat the game was

me (inquisitor) -16 AC 3 attacks just plain powerhouse with true site and dispel magic.

anomen -12 AC 2 attacks plus he's holy smite spell does soooo much damage especially to dragons...cause they are so evil.

jahaira -11 AC 3 attack just sling backing up the other 2 with her figher abilities she took out a loot of bosses with that +5 sling and whirldwind.

imoen. -8 AC she did all the thieving stuff and imprisoned those annoying merideths and beholders at the final battle so my fighers could concentrate on the real threat. very handy with all the other mage stuff...time stop, wish etc.

Thanks for the input. I think I might take Amomen now. Viconia was pretty good with undead too, she gained control of them. I think though that my swashbuckler is going to kick some serious butt, especially with his time stop traps, improved haste, and dual wielding :)
