Post by Qazaan »

Barbarians gets 10% extra speed. But when he is for eksampel weares boots of haste, will he still run 10% faster than, say a fighter with boots of haste?

Of course, anyone with a tendency for mathematical masochism is invited now to rack his brains about how NWN assigns those percentages... :D

(n=standard speed, barbarian boost, haste boost)

So, maybe it's
................(n*1.1)*2 = n*2.2....................(equaling a 120% speed boost)
or maybe
................n+(n*0.1)+(n) = n*2.1..............(equaling a 110% speed boost)

...well, not that it'd really matter, but I couldn't help nagging regardless. ;) Anyone volunteering to experiment by doing actual ingame character sprints to find out? Not? Awww... :D :p *g*

If you are ar Monk lv 39, your speed would be 130 at least. One level in barbarian would make it 140+Base speed which is 30.

170+ haste=220% (haste gives 50%)
170+ expeditious restreat= 320% (expeditious retreat gives 150%)

*re-reads spell description*
Hmmmm, true. I was under the impression that Haste gave a 100% bonus...

So the question is rather:
................(n*1.1)*1.5 = n*1.65.....................(equaling a 65% speed boost)
or
................n+(n*0.1)+(n*0.5) = n*0.6..............(equaling a 60% speed boost) :)

Didn't know that you could Quote a post into a edited post

Base speed= 30
Barbarian fast movement= 10
Haste= 50

30+10+50=90

Was it this you meant?
in that case, sorry for Quoting

to quote a post in an edited post use the "wrap quote tags" button indor the font color bar to he far right of all those little boxes

i mean that the 50% and 10% bonus will stack to be 60%

if you had 30 speed you would have 48 as a hasted barbarian

the 10% thing in NWN is messed up they shud get +10 feet when in light or medium armor
