How to play with a kensai/mage?

Post by Mekanos »

I need guidelines on how to play with a kensai mage please? And can i play with a kensai sorceror?

Also for the fallen paladin quest : i go to the docks district and find the fallen paladins with some smugglers. all the smugglers die except for 1 and she starts to kill the paladins very slowly and they dont do anyhting about it. so i decided to kill the smuggler, but then all the paladins just left. what should i do foe this quest?

Thanx

As for kensai/mage, I'll leave that to somebody else, since I haven't played that combo myself.

As for kensai/sorcere - it is not possible. (maybe with cheating/hacking)

As for Fallen Paladins

When you enter the area and the paladins are fighting the smuggleres - you should attack/help against the smuggleres - then these fallen paladins will talk to you.

Hope this helps

Not sure exactly what you're looking for. Dual to mage at level 9. As to weapons, most popular seems to be to dual wield Celestial Fury and Dak'kon's Zerth Blade. An alternative would be Staff of the Magi, especially if solo playing. Equip with Robe of Vecna, Amulet of Power and Ring of Gaxx. Before fights, always cast Stoneskin, Blur and/or Mirror Image. For tougher fights use Tenser's, Improved Invisibility and Improved Haste.

I ran through the game with a Kensai/mage not too long ago. I dual at level 9. I went with single weapon style for the extra AC bonus. But when you play a kensai mage and want the cheese.. just cast Blur and Armor on your self before every fight... My AC was -15/18 before big fights. Not much is gonna hit you with that AC. Just be carefull with monsters that dispells magic and or cast true sight. But this is THE cheese class and very easy to play... AND you can wear the amulet of power! (Makes you immune to level drain)

If you plan on playing ToB as well as SoA, I suggest dualing over to mage at Level 13, not 9. You will get one more weapon proficiency to spend as a Kensai, and at level 13 you maximize your attacks/round with a specialized (or better) weapon. If you were to reach the XP cap in ToB, this character would be a 13/28 Kensai/Mage.
