Watcher's Keep dragon - possible spolier

Okay, so I know about Saladrax who lives on the level with the illithid, the githyanki and the Machine - haven't killed him yet, but hopefully I'll get back to it.
My question is about the OTHER WK dragon. (The one with no name, oddly enough.) Does anyone know what kind of dragon you fight on level 5? You know, the one you MUST fight to get the Warrior Skull? And does anyone other than me think it's a little cheap that you don't get to keep its scales once you've beaten it?
