Nosferatu Puzzle(Help Needed)

Post by CaptainCalamity »

Hey all... I've been playing Bloodlines for a bit now and I've gotten stuck and could use some help : )

After deal with the Triscizme in the House in the hills you head into the sewers to look for the Nosferatu (at the Prince's request) well after alot of exploring I've come across a puzzle involving Two Resevoir Tanks and a few switches... I'm stuck in the Control room... and I cant swim up the line to the tanks when they are full because the fan (pump) pushes the water to hard for me to swim it.

Is there a way to turn off the fan (or pump) and keep the two tanks full? (I cant swim out the top of the tank without it full.

Thanks in Advance.

How I did it.

The way i completed this part was: There is a computer terminal next to the pump cutoff switch on the top level. But first you have to shut the power off in the locked room so that you dont get zapped. Log into the terminal and go to the pump 118a menu select the turn pumps off option and wait for them to completly stop. Next select the turn pump on option and run like the wind to the water you have to swim quickly while the pump is coming back on line. Be sure to go to the right (resivoir 2).

You can still jump in with the power on (then you just take a little damage).
Or you can use bloodbuff to open the door (difficulty 5, so you can open it then).
As for the computer you dont need that you can use the machine next from it and do it manually.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Warrens 2 118a

I haven't beat it yet, I'm stuck, and have tried at least a 100 times. I figured out to put on my light clothing, which helped me move much faster. I can get right up to the right turn! I have tried jumping over the rail and running into the water, I've tried running to the end, jumping over the rail, and end up on the platform. I've tried "dropping" down in front of the ladder, then running, jump in, and swim. Nothing works! The power's off, no problem. I try positioning myself, so I can turn the switch and just run like hell. The one thing I didn't try, was turning the pump on from the computer. Maybe using the computer will cause a delay, and give me a few more seconds. Going to try it now, need to get this game MOVING again! People who suceeded seemed to have used the computer to switch the pumps on/off. Is there a way to switch to God Mode, get through this, then switch back to regular play? Gangrel Dar

*** Spoilers ***

This is ever so simple. You just have to time it right.
Spoiler
1) Use the manual controls, not the computer controls. Trust me. Position is everything. That control is farther away, but gives you a better angle.
2) Make sure to have the electricity off to quel the zaps in the water.
3) Sheath all your weapons, put on your lightest or second-lightest armor to keep your deterity to maximum.
4) Press the manual button to drain the tanks (safe).
5) Make sure you're standing up.

Now you're into it. Relax, take a few deep breaths to calm yourself, and get your fingers on all the right keys and mice. You have to do this right the first time, or you'll fail. Make a point of marking where the fence rail is on the near side of the post behind and to your left as you look at the controls.

6) Flip the switch.
7) IMMEDIATELY, if not sooner, spin to your left, run and jump over the fence and into the water.
8) IMMEDIATELY, if not sooner, get into the trench under the grate and swim to your left - toward the propeller. As fast as you can, please, and don't stop to check the scenery. Just swim.
9) When you get to the intersection, turn right and you're home free.
10) Use Blood Buff if you don't think you're going to make it, but I never have to.
The most important tip in this whole process is that once you hit step 6 DON'T HESITATE FOR A MICROSECOND. Have a fun one!

PS. If you stop, hesitate, bump into a post, trip over the fence, miss your jump, make a wrong turn - anything. Just go back and try again. If you lose a half-second, you've lost too much.

pump 118a

Sorry, Using the computer, as opposed to the switch, was MUCH slower. I have a new computer - super fast, and using Vista. Totally stuck at pump 118a, and I cannot move further in the game. Hoping I can switch to a God Mode, complete this, and move on. I really don't know what else to do! I've been here for days, and as much as I love this game, there is nothing else I can do. ANY suggestions? All I have to do is switch, run, and swim. Gangrel Dar STUCK!

I get the sense that you're waiting for the switch. Don't. Hit it, turn, and run. If you hear it go 'thunk' just keep on going. If you don't you missed, so go back and hit it again, but you should be nearly to the guard rail by the time you hear the switch close.

Solution for Windows Vista

Go to Microsoft website, where you'll find a NVIDIA update for Windows Vista. Install - and restart your computer. You can easily solve this puzzle, and move on! Hit the switch, run, swim, all of the things you've tried a 100 times. WOW! Vista is fast and furious! I'm loving the graphics, and smooth game play. I just didn't know there were updates for NVIDIA! Thanks all, and hope this helps another VISTA user! Gangrel Dar
