3.5 Edition PC Game?

Post by faruz »

I had my players play Temple of Elemental Evil for the PC in order for them to get an idea of how the turn-based encounters work.

Is there another game that uses 3.5 edition rules and is turn based?

IWD uses 3.5 but is not turn-based.

Wasn't there an option that enabled turn-based style?

Pool of Radience is turned based, but it is 3. ed just like iwd2

You can also cofigure bg2 to be played semi-turned based with the auto pause at start of turn i believe

Well, we used to play BG & BG2 but I wanted something which is closer to the real rules...
I'll give Pool of Radience a shot...

Or you know what, I read some reviews and IWD seems much better. I'll take a crack at it (Even though it's real-time which I hate...)

In that case, perhaps you should check Neverwinter Nights out.

You might not want to do that. PoR has a bug in the uninstall that causes it to erase your HD.

TOEE is definetly best concerning rule-implementation and game-engine...

....but has many bugs, lame stories & quests, to short (gametime & level 10 cap), much to easy for an experienced player and just seems to be a very unfinished product...

POR I left out, reading about the massive problems it seems to have

...all others I know - aren't turn-based - but you can play them more or less turn based with the right settings (but I also prefer the real turn-based solution)

IWD2 has not that much story - but good rule-implementation - but also a little to short without HOF

BG2 old rules - but great story, with TOB some of the hardest fights in CRPGs ever (besides HOF), the only negative point was that you have to decide if you create an own party (what I prefer) or take the NPCs with there great dialogues... :( - but thank god you have the chance to modify the NPCs so you can have both ;)
