Giovanni Stronghold Help (Spoilers)

Post by NeoTiamat »

Oh Joy, Let's hear it for the incompetent Ventrue.

My Situation:
I have just arrived in the lovely giovanni stronghold, and have already managed to sweet talk myself into an invitation. Not a problem. Inside, I've talked to everyone and have found the quasi-quest in which you dig up dirt on the Giovanni. Adam is easy, a bit of persuasion is all it takes, but when I start talking to Mera about her "errors of judgemnet" she clams up. Christopher doesn't even get me anything to work with. I have explored most of the mansion, including the kitchen and swimming pool, but have no idea what to do next.

My Questions:
1. How do you I get some dirt on either Mera or Chris?

2. How do I advance in the Main, "Find the Sarcophagus" quest?

I can't help you with the sidequest, since i am not quite as charming and was forced to smoke everyone in and outside the building.

To get on with the mainquest however you have go to the libary room (kinda. The room on the right side when you enter the mansion. It has got a desk in it)
There you have to *use* the sword decoration, and a secret door will swing open.

Neo, I played a Ventrue, too and was also hoping to dig up some dirt for those Giovanni. I spoke to everyone but came up empty handed. My Ventrue was extremely good at persuasion and seduction, too. If there was a way to finish this side quest, I didn't find it either.

Is it possible? Does anyone know?

As far as the main quest, the easiest way for a Ventrue to get a foot in the door is to talk to one of the women in the main room. Not Mera, but the other woman that it's possible to speak with. Just start talking to her and introduce yourself and ask her if she's seen anything interesting since she's been staying with the Giovanni. She'll start to tell you but then will change her mind. Assure her it's okay to tell you, and she'll tell you to "forget about it." Then tell her you'll go find someone more interesting to talk to and she'll cave in and take you downstairs.

Side Quest ..

- the guy in the corner (hard to follow how the conversation went) .. but you need to convince him that you will get dirt on the others for him and then he will tell you his secret .. i was Malkavian so is kinda hard to tell you guys what to say to him .. but he tells you that his mother was a harlot and the he is not a true Giovani (this took me a few goes at it becuase you have to say the right things in the right order)

- the guy next to the pillar talks about a great money venture and asks if you would come in on the deal .. mention or ask if he has no money and thats why he is asking for you to invest in his idea .. this reveals that he has no money and that is his flaw

- after you have them reveal that go back and tell Micha ? what you have found and you get the XP for it.. once you give her what she wants .. she doesnt speak to you again (or you cant speak to he again)

edit : Main Quest/Mera(Nadia)

- you need to get into one of the side rooms by picking the lock if i remember .. once in that room there is a sword on the wall.. pull it to open a secret door and down you go for some zombie smashing fun..

- the girl on the side is a seduction character to drink from i imagine, she is very touchy though .. i have seduced her but said something wrong and she doesnt say anything after that .. the side quest is for you to only dig up dirt on the two guys ( i could be wrong about Nadia though due to the fact i haven't finished the dialogue with her successfully)

(there is a secret wall in the laundry room.. maybe thats it - cant remember the main quest to well)

I have a little to add to comments above. I'm malkavian, so I won't talk about exact conversation responses.

Mera (I think that's her name) does have dirt, she's HIV positive. I needed persuasion of 9 to get that from her, though.

The Chris guy will give you his dirt without the promise of getting others, but only if you have a high enough persuasion (8 or 9, I think). His conversation appeared broken however, as I only had the option of telling on the others to him the first time I talked with him.

I have low seduction, so I don't know about seducing Nadia, but with persuasion 8 (maybe only 7 needed) you can get her to take you all the way down to the zombies, opening doors for you along the way.

When you give a Giovanni dirt on another one, the one you told on stops talking to you and you get 1 XP. If you tell the secret on the other 2 to any one of the three, you get the 1 XP for each secret plus a 3rd for helping that one. So far as I know, there is no way to play them against each other because they stop talking to you.

There are several ways into the "library" room. One of the several secret passages has a door there, picking the lock (difficulty 8, don't forget buff), and Nadia.
