Anybody know how whether it is possible to to save your favorite ghoul from getting killed by the Sabbat, and if so how?

not sure if this counts..

U could always tell her to leave before the Sabbath quest. :)
Other than that it's impossible.

My Malkavian sucked her dry (a Malk reasoning better that than the Sabbat) after getting the armor (-1 hummanity hit) and the Sabbat still had her at Hollowbrook. I'm guessing the only way to save her is give up some of her goodies (like the armor) and send her away. I don't even know if this works, they may still get her, any comments.

Sending her away gives you a humanity increase. Nice for any Toreador who was stuck with a decrease beforehand. I don't know if the Body Armor is that good compared to the loss of Dexterity.

The dexterity loss only affects your stealth and lockpicking skills, and you can always change outfits before using those skills....

Hmmm....

Dex should also affect your swiftness/agility as far as I know....

There are mods to get Heather to stay in the game even after she "dies." Do a search of the Modding forum at http://www.planetvampire.com and i'm sure you'll find something to help you out.

It would have made sense if dex affected your dodge feat, but that is determined by wits and defense (each feat is affected by 2 stats/skills, for a potential total of 10). Dex is in charge of lockpicking (with security) and stealth (with sneaking)

Heather takes the Heat

I actually had 2 heathers as a Tremere - one in Santa Monica and one in the Chantry! I agonised over what to do with her before Hollowbrook - was I nice to her and got the armour - knowing as a player that it would mean she died later on or apply previous knowledge and save her.
I decided to be natural and not apply my extra knowledge, hoping that the Santa Monica Heather would survive, but when I got there after the griffith park episode, that one was gone too.
I took revenge with real anger when I went through the Sabbat ranks after they had killed Heather. I do think that it should be possible to send her away after she has given the body armour, but it does not appear possible.

Heheh. If this is only playing on your conscience, you might want to try this. After you go down to the level where Andrei's lair is located, go back up the way you came to where Heather was 'killed' (before challenging Andrei). When I tried it, she was standing around, looking perfectly healthy. Of course, she didn't seem too interested in chitchat anymore. So it worked out for the best, after all.

LOL!

Anyway.... Heather's life is destroyed the moment you accept her service as your ghoul. She drops out of school and she has people tailing her who most likely want to harm her to harm you. She's given up her future to be your servant, and her service to you puts her life in danger. If you really cared about Heather, if you really wanted to save her, you'd let her go.

Now, having said that... most of the time I don't let her go either. Whether I do or not depends mostly on which clan I'm playing at the time. My Ventrue and Tremere characters are ruthless bastards who have no compunctions about using her and throwing her away. My Toreador, on the other hand, actually has a conscience.
