Major bug? Need help.

Post by Xoom »

ATM I am uanble to proceed with the game. I'm looking for the nosferatu, and is currently at Warrens - level 2. I've made it so far that I'm supposed to press a switch, then hurry and swin into a reservoir that will be filled with water, so I can proceed to the next level.

My problem is that I press the switch, swim past the fan and into reservoir 1, but the reservoir doesn't fill with water, so I'm stuck at the bottom  I've tried this several times, always with the same result. Also tried reloading a couple of times, but that doesn't seem to work either. Is there any way for me to proceed, or should I just give up? Perhaps some console-command that enables me to fly would be nice. Or a patch that fixes the bug?

Question: when you swim past the fan, is the fan spinning (and is the spinning increasing?)? If not, then you aren't doing it right. What you need to do is flip the switch, and run/swim like hell so that you get past the fan before it gears up to the point where the water flow is too fast for you to get past it (and go into the reservoir to the right as you are facing the fan).

This is not easy to do and I find it to be one of the more irritating ordeals in the game. . .however, there is always the console and the noclip option.

Xoom you are in the wrong reservoir! You need to go to reservoir 2.
This is the one which will fill up with water.
Now *don't* ask me how you are supposed to know that. I found it out via trial and error, too. And *don't* ask me why reservoir 2 fills up and reservoir1 not.
Makes no sense to me..
Anyway, rock on!

Same thing happened to me. Definitely go right at the fan...not sure why this happens since both light up as being filled on the machines.
